The Pacific Basin Consortium has promoted information exchange and cooperative research on issues related to environmental pollutants and human health for two decades through eleven international conferences and numerous training programs held throughout the Pacific Basin region.
As a growing body of scientific work points to the connections between environmental contaminants and adverse human health effects, it becomes ever more important that people share research and ideas across disciplines and national borders to develop effective and affordable strategies to address these problems.
The PBC's 11th International Conference 'Threats to Human Health and Sustainability: Environmental Pollutants and Climate Change' was held in Honolulu, Hawaii in September of 2005. To learn more about the PBC and its activities, please visit the PBC's main website.
